EPS and ECU unit repair is becoming an increasingly popular service. Most modern passenger cars (as well as all electric cars) are equipped with electric power steering, and the number and popularity of electric cars is steadily increasing. Therefore, repair of EPS and EGU steering units is a promising area.

The experts at MSG Equipment have developed an entire line of equipment that covers the full range of needs for diagnosing and repairing EPS and ECU units.

MS561 Controller

The MS561 checks the performance of EPS and ECU units (steering racks, columns and pumps) operating via CAN and FlexRay communication protocols.

The controller can be used to test units that have been removed from the vehicle: the unit supplies power and programme codes to the unit so that the rack or pump can be started and tested.

Benefits of the MS561 controller:

  • Diagnoses the unit removed from the vehicle.
  • Works with data transfer protocols: CAN, FlexRay.
  • Checks torque sensors separately from the machine.
  • Diagnoses machines under load with a maximum current consumption of 100 A.
  • Free update of controller firmware and machine database via internet.
  • The presence of OBDII connector for connection to the controller of various diagnostic devices (Launch, MaxiSys, VAS5054, Bosch KTS, etc.).
  • Compactness of the device, simplicity and ease of operation.

FLEXRAY cables
Using FlexRay cables, it is possible to diagnose the most modern EPS units working according to FlexRay protocol on BMW, AUDI, MINI, MERCEDES-BENZ cars.

The MS550 adapter
The MS550 adapter allows the MS561 controller to diagnose the electrical part of the steering rack: electric motor, electric motor position sensor, torque sensor, as well as the mechanical part of the rack. With the MS550 adapter, real-time sensor data can be displayed, allowing you to accurately determine the fault and calibrate the torque sensor.

Universal Cable MS-35670
When diagnosing with MS561 controller you need to use special diagnostic cables, but they are not available for all units or it is not reasonable to buy one. For such cases our specialists have developed a universal cable MS-35670. It can be connected to most of steering racks and columns with electric power steering, as well as ECU pumps controlled via CAN protocol. The use of universal cable on the one hand expands the range of diagnosed units, on the other hand it is rather difficult to connect the unit. This procedure requires certain knowledge. Therefore, the universal cable MS-35670 is not a full-fledged replacement of special cables, but supplements them, expanding the capabilities of the diagnostic complex.

MS570 – the electronics repairman's desk

The MS570 table is designed to work with ERC repair equipment. It has space for diagnostic equipment and a soldering station, and has two built-in power supplies. A 60W LED light provides excellent illumination, which is important for repair and diagnostic work.

MS700 – EPS cable storage system

Store EPS cables conveniently with the special MS700 system:

  • storage of up to 46 cables;
  • System design keeps cables securely in place and makes it easy to locate and remove them at the same time
  • supported bearings allow the holders to rotate freely

This is the range of equipment we have developed and offer for diagnosing and repairing EPSD steering units and ECU pumps.

Every controller, adapter, and scanner is built for a reason. MSG Equipment has a long and close co-operation with Dipa Sport, Eurodiesel (India and UAE), Nitro Group and others. It is based on the experience and needs of craftsmen, customer requests, that we have created and continue to create equipment that simplifies, speeds up repair and diagnostics, and in some cases, in principle, makes it possible.

Collaboration with large, wide-ranging car repair centres allows us to understand the needs of the market and develop new areas in a timely manner.
