Equipment for diagnostics of alternatos and starters
The entire MSG Equipment line of alternator and starter diagnostic equipment can be divided into three groups:
1.for express diagnostics:MS015 COM and MS016;
2.for complete unit diagnostics: MS005, MS002 COM, MS004 COM, MS006 COM
3.for diagnosing machine assemblies: MS012 COM, MS013 COM, MS014, MS021, 3.
This equipment can be used to carry out a full range of possible workshop work – from initial assessment of the condition of the unit on the vehicle to identifying the faulty element in the unit.
Let's look at each group and its capabilities in more detail.
- Diagnostic equipment: the MS015 COM and MS016 testers provide a quick assessment of the condition of the alternator on the vehicle.
The MS016 tester can additionally diagnose the voltage regulator separately from the alternator, it is equipped with a database of schemes for connecting voltage regulators to the tester.
This allows the service technician to quickly determine the cause of the alternator failure without removing it from the car.
- Equipment for complete diagnostics of units: MS005, MS002 COM, MS004 COM, MS006 COM.
The MS005 stand has the greatest possibilities. It can diagnose alternators and starters with nominal voltage 12/24 V, alternators with vacuum pump and car batteries. Stand MS005 can set the load on the alternator up to 300 A. That is, it can diagnose all types of alternators and their possible faults.
The measured parameters are displayed in the form of graphs. Diagnostic results can be saved and printed. Two new functions will be available in the near future: diagnostics for «start-stop» and 48V alternators.
A new function will be available in the near future.
The MS002 COM evaluates the technical condition of: 12 V/24 V alternators (up to 200 Amperes for 12 V and up to 100 Amperes for 24 V), 12 V/24 V starters up to 6 kW and voltage regulators separate from the alternator. With it, you can maximise the range of automotive alternators for diagnostics.
Compact bench MS004 COM operates from 220 V mains (! which is convenient in the absence of industrial network 380 V) and diagnoses 12 V/24 V alternators under load up to 100 Ampere for 12 V and up to 50 Ampere for 24 V, 12 V/24 V starters with power up to 4 kW. It can also diagnose voltage regulators separately from the generator.
The MS006 COM is also a benchtop version, powered by 220V. It is designed for diagnostics of 12/24 volt car alternators under load up to 50A. This is enough to check all generators of passenger cars at a small car repair shop.
The equipment from this group allows to carry out full diagnostics of units removed from the car at the service station.
Equipment for diagnostics of aggregates: MS012 COM, MS013 COM, MS014, MS021, MS031.
With the MS012 COM tester you can simulate the connection of a voltage regulator to a serviceable alternator in order to determine its operability and to select an analogue regulator for a particular alternator.
With the MS014 tester you can check both stator windings and diode bridges of car alternators. There is no need to use third-party measuring devices or to unsolder individual diode bridge semiconductors.
The MS021 tester determines the technical condition of automotive alternator diode bridges and diodes individually. The device is easy to use, has small dimensions and light weight.
With the MS031 tester you can easily assess the technical condition of the starter solenoid, determine the presence of open circuits and intercurrent shorts in the coil of the traction relay.
The MS031 tester is easy to use.
This group of equipment allows you to diagnose in detail each of the parts of the generator.
This range of equipment from MSG Equipment is designed to meet the needs of different types of workshops. Our managers will take into account individual wishes and help you to choose the equipment that suits your workshop.
All stands and testers have been developed in co-operation with the specialists of the Master Service network. The wishes of mechanics who work with MSG Equipment have also been taken into account.
